Well, the video is pretty average in my opinion but since i really love this song (nice summer track, dont you think?) i decided to post it here:

    huh. that's a decent little tune.

    I also have the other two albums but have yet to pick this newer one up. I wasn't overly impressed with Room on Fire so I've been reluctant. I do like that song though. how is the rest of the record compared to that one?

    I wouldn't say I loved it, but I do enjoy it more than ROF. Mostly because that second record sounds pretty much exactly the same and I was looking/hoping for a little bit of experimentation from them. Not saying they need to be playing ethereal, 20 min. long, tracks random noise, but man the songs really sound similar and they tend to run together.

    I actually liked that video also.

    Their new album is the best of the three. Easily :)

    i think first impressions of earth is easily the worst of the three

    There are 4 amazing songs on this album:

    You Only Live Once
    Ize Of The World
    Razorblade
    (I forget the name of the 4th-My CD's are packed cause I'm moving in a couple of days...)

    But I think the rest of the album is horrible. Rambling lyrics and vocals. But the 4 songs are great.

    i disagree. (and i think you're talking about heart in a cage).

    Most of the album is great..

    a select few (among them the ones you listed) are amazing, and the album kind of rambles towards the end, but there are no horrible songs on it.


    It suffers from that epidemic some albums have when the very best songs are all at the begining and there's a long period towards the end and middle where it drags because of that.

    Best thing about it is it's matured soooooooooo much over the first 2 Strokes albums.

    Same with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs...

    looks like both of those bands have what it takes to be around and amazing for a long time. :cool:

    To each his own. I tried getting into the other songs but couldn't. IMO they're really bad. The vocal melody and the music rambles.
