They're a huge success over here!! A fantastic aussie talent!!
They've got the makings to be the next INXS (in terms of being a big Australian international success)

Hell yea! I heard them about two months ago doing a song called 'Dimension' and it rocked. It was like cream, sabbath, zeppelin and ac/dc rolled into one.
It's not the most original stuff, but it sure rocks and there's nothing wrong with that.

O&A played one of their songs on the air today, it was really good. definitely reminded me of zeppelin.

These guys are doing small clubs right now for peanuts and I implore anyone who likes pshycadelic music to go check them out because they are going to blow the rooves off of these clubs and probably will be doing much bigger things after this tour if this album is an indication.

I just heard some of their stuff about 2 weeks ago. I hope they make it really big, cause they are really good!

P.S. I've heard the new Tool also..:) I can't wait for the whole album!
  • If I were a Ozzy/Black Sabbath fan, I'd absolutely love Wolfmother.

As it is, I dig most of what I've heard based on the music, but at times the lead singer's voice really grates on me. I'll still probably buy the album along with Tool and PJ on May 2nd.

It's well worth buying, I'll tell you that much. I was impatient and had to import it for some good chunk of change but it was worth it. I'm interested in seeing how'll they'll follow up their first album. Will they focus on making the big hits or are they going to evolve as musicians? Who knows.

there's a link to the whole album for us non aussie's that want to have them kick our ass. it's definately derivative, but they're so pure about it it doesn't matter. they sound like they're legitimately from 1972 instead of copying it.

This band is fucking amazing!! I've been listening to them non stop for the last few days...awesome

  • I'm listening to their album on Myspace right now...this shit fuckin' rocks.
  • they are tourin home in June, just a mini tour so far, got my tickets.
    anyone know their setlists???
  • I listened to the first 6 songs through MySpace.

In another thread, I compared the bridge of "Marker in the Sand" to Zeppelin. Wow. That was before I heard the bridge of Wolfmother's "Where Eagles Have Been" or the riff to "White Unicorn".

The lead singer's voice grates on me after a while, more so than Chris Cornell or Ozzy, and if I were to discredit these guys for derivative music I'd have to re-examine a large portion of my Cd collection (including PJ). Ultimately, this is definitely a promising new band, adding to the ever-growing retro-rock movement. I don't get a damn thing out of the lyrics, but when it rocks that hard what do I care.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
