so i got back from New Orleans late last night from the Voodoo Festival and here are my insights are the music I saw.
Joseph Arthur-Craziness. Only heard about the guy until I saw him and he was awesome. His stage antics were very Anton Newcombe (in a good way) of Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Chili Peppers- Not that good, if youve seen them once, you seen them all. The sound was poor and they were sloppy. They did play Apache Rose Peacock though.
Broken Social Scene-Were great but def. not a festival band.
Social D.-Alot of fun and Mike Ness still has it.
Drive By Truckers-Of course they kicked ass.
Pete Yorn-Great. Played some great covers and sounded wonderful.
Flaming Lips-, like DBT, how can they not be amazing.
Kings of Leon-Fucking awesome. The new material sounds really different and awesome.
overall good weekend, the crowds were terrible with all the middle school girls for my chemical romance. Def. voodoo seemed to be more of a social gathering for under age kids to get drunk but i guess you have to expect that from a big festival.
