He has just released another haunting, yet beautiful album. Im in love with 9 so far.
The song rootless tree will be sung as loud as possible by everyone after their first listen.

I'll third that...
I got this at the beginning of last week, and listed to it a few times, but always with other stuff going on. I sat down today and listened to it with no distractions, and I really really loved it.

i just discovered him and bought "O" this past weekend. i love "amie."
i've heard "9 crimes" on myspace and added the song to my page. he's so amazing.
You got to spend it all
For those interested, I found this live show while searching online:

9 Crimes is gorgeous.... I first heard it when he played it on Letterman, was it? I can't remember what I was watching - but it was beautiful right from the start...
Lisa's vocals are incredible, as usual....
Damien's not so bad either.... lol!
Any good suggestions for the album to start with, or just buy the last one?

WOW. I really wanted to catch him on this tour, but it is sold out here.
Maybe next time.

lol! indeed, it's a cheeky little tune...
my sister's review of Rootless Tree: "would somebody please let Damien out?"
LMAO!
At this point, I'd start with O. 9 is lovely, but the songs just don't stand out the way Blower's Daugther, Canonball, and Amie did....
That's a first...

really only two songs on 9 (for me) jumped out into my ears. those two songs were tracks 1 and 4. the others were good but didn't jump out at me right away.
i do like this album more than O though... probably because the songs are new and more fresh to me though but, they're both beautiful and i still listen to O quite often.
so, if you want to get into damien rice and havn't yet, then just get both albums. listen to O about three times before you get into 9 and then you'll realize what you've been missing out on.
