Tom will be on Letterman Nov. 27 and The Daily show with John Stewart on the 28th. Tom's past television appearances have been nothing short of incredible, so keep your eyes open.
it's a good year to be a Waits fan. a tour and a box set. I'm excited. he should do this stuff more often.

"What’s Orphans? I don’t know. Orphans is a dead end kid driving a coffin with big tires across the Ohio River wearing welding goggles and a wife beater with a lit firecracker in his ear." - Tom Waits

Brave to try to gamble at times
really? some of those clips sound really good.
I love the first track already.
I'd rather have Tom put out his weird stuff instead of keeping it all in. It's a step in the right direction. He needs to get out and make more records and tour some more.

"There is adventure, danger, and the sound of the previous, the forgotten, and the wished for in it. And it is that voice that links all three of these discs together and makes them partners. One cannot dismiss that even though some of these songs have appeared elsewhere, Orphans is a major work that goes beyond the origins of the material and drags everything past and present with sound and texture into a present to be presented as something utterly new, beyond anything he has previously issued."
album of the year I'd say, and I haven't even heard it yet. tom never dissappoints.
