here's a new arcade fire track - "Intervention"

it's a radio rip so the audio is somewhat crappy.

great song though.

I love that organ at the beginning....haunting.

I can't wait for this new record. I don't know how it's going to compare to Funeral, but that song has me excited.

    "Intervention", a song from the forthcoming Arcade Fire album, was played tonight on BBC Radio 1 by (the abominable) Zane Lowe. It features the pipe organ from the St-Jean Baptiste church on Rachel Ave in Montreal (i.e. around the corner from my old house). It also features glockenspiel.

    It seems the album will be called Neon Bible. There is a website (http://www.neonbible.com) and a magical phone number to call (1-866-NEON-BIBLE [tag on an 00 if in the UK]). Once there you are met with peculiar telesales voicemail and various peculiar options. Press "7777" to listen to "Intervention". Press other buttons to leave a comment, to enter their "$10,000" contest (where the grand prize seems to be a subscription to a newsletter), or - if it's Tuesday 3:00-3:30 EST, - to talk to "a representative".
