I am an active ten Club memeber however I am one of the dopes who has let my number expire.....More than once.

I had 190,XXX several years ago and let it slip.
I renewed back in 2003 I believe- and then was issued 260,XXX

Well I screwed up last year and forgot to renew again, I signed back up in May '07 and now I have 400,XXX. Somebody please shoot me.

Has anyone had this happen and do you go to the "back of the line". I always had great seats with the 260,XXX number....

This time around I suspect it will be different.

Going to CT and Mass. shows.

I've been over but never past the grace period.

I signed up in 2000 I think and my number is 264xxx.

Best thing to do is renew once you get the letter via email.
  • Had the membership in late 90s, early 2000's and did the same thing.

Can someone explain the lottery system for rows and is this for all shows?

I just don't get how people forget to renew.
  • Part of it, Patrick is that because PJ tours every few years and I've had luck with TM it really wasn't a necessity. It was back in the PJ vs. TM days, but now that TM is involved, I seem to have luck with PJ tix. I renewed on a whim a few months ago when I heard they were touring, so decided to rejoin. Plus I miss those vynal records.
  • How could anyone forget to renew? They send you at least 3 E-Mails reminding you. Anyone that forgets deserves to be pushed to the back of the line. Make more room for the people that actually give a shit.

Ok thanks for the update. :)

It's like clockwork for me. Every first of the year time to renew. Been doing that since 2000.
  • Yeah, honestly I check the tenclub website frequently, but I wasn't on the mailing list and I have a hardcore PJ friend who alerts me to touring news (if I didn't know already). I mean, if I never had luck with TM and if PJ toured every year, I'd always renew. But I don't blame people for keeping a subscription every year and appreciate everyone's loyalty, as PJ is the best band around and I hope they don't retire.

Is anyone surprised that Hartford tix are still available?

Well, the renewal reminder e-mails are a recent phenomenon. I forgot back in 1999, I think, but when I renewed in 2000, I got back my old #. Guess that doesn't happen anymore - I think the 10C folks were sick of "tour year leeches" who'd simply reup when they expected a tour...

Best way to avoid losing your # is to prepay a few years.
    I'm a member until 2011.
    Seriously.

Signed up in 2003, and I make sure to pad the membership with a year or two before concert announcements or after seeing a show. I'll pay $40 now in hopes of getting great seats two years later. Especially when there's fan-club-only bonuses like the Vic.

I didn't get any email reminders this past year! I finally remmebered myself a few months later, and of course got a worse number than I had before. But I've sat on the lawn at other concerts (I didn't get my tickets through 10c -- I was always getting more than two tickets) & loved the concert. This is the first time I'm getting my tickets through 10c, so any seat closer than the lawn is going to be heaven for me.

    Good advice! Thank you.
  • Yeah I prepaid for 3 years a while ago. Just added another year as I run out in April! I originally joined in 1/00 but it lapsed by a few months. I think judging by other people's #'s I kept my #.

Its frickin' too easy, at least for me to forget. Thanks for the reccomendations. I think prepaid is the way to go, I never thought of that.

Also, I had never received any email reminders. That would be an obvious solution but it did not work for me unfortunately.
  • I almost let my 32### slip, left it very close and I was worried for a while but then got confirmation it went through in time. I'd be gutted if I let my amazing number slip as I don't see too many with lower numbers. I've been in since 93.

Love that quote! :) So true. I've been in the 10c since '93 since before the internet and all I did was put it on my calendar. I also always paid a year ahead in case I happened to miss it with other stuff going on. Back then it didn't even really mean that much, but I just thought of it that way. Kind of like a rent or utility bill. :) I'm weird, and I know it! lol :)

Never realized buying multiple years was an option... mine lapsed this year and I never got any emails notifying me that it was due to expire. I don't check the site often either cause I'm in same boat as someone else that posted before who gets updates from a die-hard fan offline, maybe if I throw 2 or 3 years @ 'em they'll let me have my original # back & since my 1 and *only* lapse was recent, I have been paying loyally since '00.
