    imo he does, totally. thus why 'better' is so subjective. i don't care how long a career one has, if i don't like your voice..or the bulk of your music - altho certainly i admit his masterful lyrics - then it doesn't matter much to me, you can't be better to me...simply b/c i don't like your music. so yes, in my world....hendrix most definitely can, and is, better than young. thus why, while fun and all...these topics are so subjective, really doesn't 'prove' anything...beyond our personal tastes and musical preferences/prejudices.

    people like to make judgements about john by his radio music. but i've listened to his albums and watched his life stuff and hes amazing. the hob trio tour was amazing.

    John Mayer is no godsend but he makes very listenable music with the trio. Pretty decent hendrix covers, really good guitar playing, gravity is a great song. That at least is his redeeming factor.. I don't think he's anywhere close to "you'll go to hell for liking him".
