I know Rush has been together, with the same 3 guys for over 30 years, and are still together.

Who else?

I thought Aerosmith too but didn't some of the members leave for awhile and come back?

Yeah U2 is a good answer.

I know that Neil, Alex and Geddy aren't the original members, John Rutsey was the original drummer. But those three have been together for over 30 years and are still going. Just wondering if there was any other band besides them.

I think ZZ top is the longest american rock band with all members staying constant.

They're actually going to tour with some guy they found on youtube...their singer is sick and wants the band to hold off for another year or so but they're doing a tour without him.

Not original members. And not members that have been together for over 30 years. And not still making albums and touring.

True. Not original members, but the stones still tour. They had a world tour in like 2005.

Rush is a Canadian rock band originally formed in August 1968, in the Willowdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, currently comprised of bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. The band and its membership went through a number of re-configurations between 1968 and 1974, achieving their definitive form when Neil Peart replaced original drummer John Rutsey in July 1974, two weeks before the group's first U.S. tour.

John Rutsey just died earlier this year. He never really got started with the band even though he has a few writing credits to songs of the band.

As for a band with it's original members RUSH has to be by far the best band still playing Gracefully Under Pressure. My favorite from g under p...Red Sector A

Yeah, Aerosmith first appeared in 73 and based on original members, I'd have to say they are the ones who have been together the longest.

    Nope
Other than a period from July 1979 to April 1984, the line-up of Tyler, Perry, Hamilton, Kramer, and Whitford has stayed the same.

A band with original members, without ever breaking up or changing lineups at one point?

I think it has to be ZZ Top as well. Almost 40 years with the original lineup still in tact
I am lost, I'm no guide. But I'm by your side...

    8/25/92, 10/4/96, 10/5/96, 9/1/98, 9/4/98, 8/4/00, 8/6/00, 4/15/03, 4/16/03, 10/6/04, 6/16/08
  • Its not Aerosmith because they made one album in the early 80s I believe without Perry, so even though they are back now they did technically "break up" at one point. I think it HAS to be ZZ Top

I thought i already gave the answer

    Golden Earring

They've been together since 1961 (no break ups), all original members, have consistently releasing albums, and have been consistantly touring.

This was a year before The Rolling Stones

Good answer, same members since 1970.

Golden Earring celebrated their 47th anniversary in 2008 and have been performing almost continuously since their foundation in 1961. They have had the same unchanged line-up of the same four musicians and friends since 1970, augmented time to time with a fifth member.

  • would be the stones. I never got into their music and wish they'd disappear off the radar already. Just my opinion :)
