With the exception of Chris Cornell's new album all the other albums i'm waiting for are metal;

Metallica - Death Magnetic
Soulfly - Conquer
Motorhead - Motorizer
Rammstein - ?

What else is coming out soon? no doubt i'm not aware of some but there must be some good rock or indie out soon.

What are you looking forward to?

    i'm curious to hear the new verve album. definitely kings of leon and oasis though. nas's new album came out tuesday, but it's rather disappointing.

    Nas needs to go back to his roots in a way he has promised but never delivered. Though Stillmatic was his best since It Was Written, it still wasn't Illmatic 2. My main problem is the beats. His production is the fucking cheesy Kanye West type shit. It makes no sense how someone could drop off quite so much. His flow sounds like he had a stroke or lobotomy somewhere between '94 and 2008 and his taste in production is puzzling. He needs to stay the hell away from DJ Green Lantern and MARK RONSON (?!?!?!?) and realise that the reason why Illmatic was magic was that he was a fresh kid with incredible talent and potential who had the best team of hip-hop producers behind him the world had ever seen. I mean, DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Large Professor on one album?

    His new album isn't awful, it's just awful coming from Nas.

    that about sums it up. it's not bad really, just sounds incredibly mediocre coming from nas. he still has his moments. hero is a pretty good track. street's disciplie had some mind-blowing moments, but it had too much filler to be a great album. hip hop is dead, same problem of great tracks bloated by cheesy pop. it's like he's trying too hard to be jay-z but still make a statement. pop rap with self consciously preachy lyrics. the lost tapes is one of my favorite albums by him... a bunch of b-sides where he kept it simple and just kind of let his guard down. it's not a bad album, but jay-z ad kanye do that poppy rap with slick production way better than nas can ever hope to. they're the glamor rappers, nas just can't pull that off. he's at his best when he's hard and brutal.

    though the song about kfc is hilariously good.

    Yep, I hate his beats as well. But I think it's because he was ;using Salaam Remi so much. His beats weren't that tight. Personally I like Green Lantern, he didn't do a ton of stuff on the new LP i thought. Ah yeah, you're right, It's Sorry Ma, Stink, Hootenanny and Let it Be. Not sure when the last 4 are out. Not really interested in the last two myself but the Tim and Pleased to meet Me reissues should be cool.

    U2 will almost certainly release their new album this November; almost every CD they put out is around that time of year, and this will be the third album in a row released in November of an election year. Pearl Jam, on the other hand, not a chance.
