Why does Chris Cornell's "Scream" keep getting delayed?

Just curious. Can't say I'm much of a fan of the new stuff but I can't say I hate it either. I guess it can't get much worse after "Carry On" anyway. I've watched this albums release date change a handful of times on amazon. Seems odd that quite a few songs were released a while back but yet the album isn't going to be out till February 3rd. Could it be Chris is in denial that he's actually going to release this?

The excuse seems to be proper marketing and promotion. But I guess releasing 6 songs to iTunes, all to a pretty much negative response it seems...plus all the corporate whoring with Verizon isn't proper.

I think Cornell had to know his longtime fanbase would be lukewarm-to-absolutely hating it. And the different crowd that seems to be targeted by this doesn't really give a fuck either. It "screams" disaster.

Interesting his live shows now seem to feature fewer and fewer new songs. And one would think now, or a couple months ago, would have been the time to release it while there was still somewhat of a buzz about it. By the time its released 3 months from now it'll be long removed from the public eye.
I am lost, I'm no guide. But I'm by your side...

Every single....single has flopped on the charts, and they know they have a bomb on their hands. They just don't know how to get rid of it.

bomb is the right word from what I've heard of it, a'bomb'ination :( I can only hope and pray thet Chris hears it back and is going..."wtf was I thinking.....I'm sure it wasn't this bad yesterday.." and for that reason is delaying the release.
Trouble is, if he holds this turd for too long, it could lead to a blockage :D
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....
  • Why's Scream being delayed, you ask??? Because it sucks! Fuck Cornell, Fuck Timbaland, and Fuck YOU!

No I'm kidding, I just felt like belting out 'fuck Timbaland'....but seriously though, it's being delayed because none of the six songs out there have gained near the amount of popularity they had hoped for. Simple business. Timbaland is a business man after all, and record labels are, well, record labels. I'm hoping it never sees the light of day. Let's just get this nightmare over with and hope he can make something worth listening too....or anything that would give him some sort of relevance these days....

Oh and something else you should know, last I heard the release date was pushed back till Mar 10th; not Feb 3rd anymore, go figure.

    I second this assessment.

    I know I'm not ready.

I don't think we'll ever see it. Hopefully Chris just wants to pretend Scream never happened.

But seriously I'm struggling to even look at the Soundgarden and other Cornell music on my shelves thanks to this.:(
