I saw them in '96...can't be much different. ;)

No offense to AC/DC, but they're like clockwork and damn it that's what the fans pay for and expect.

    Always a good time.

Nope, Unfirtunatley ticketbastard screwed us on Dallas. Then in Houston didn't get tix because the Hurricane had pushed the onsale date back and didn't get a ticket alert for it in my email (I did for the original date though). I go on Toyota center's website to find tix had already gone on sale Oct 4rth and the thing was sold out.

I'm going down to Toyota Center the day of the show or (night of) and see if I can get a ticket for face or less from a scalper. It's not likely, but I'm going to try. I know I would rather get some money for a ticket, that will just wind up in the trash if it goes unsold. I hope I get to see AC/DC.

got tix, through the fan club, for Birmingham uk. It's next April :) should be a good nite, aint seen them since Donington 1991.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....
  • I went and saw them tonight. OMG It was awesome!!!!
Their opening act cancelled so it was only ACDC tonight. I heard some guys talking on my way out and he said Detroit was louder, but TONIGHT was BETTER!

They did their usual schtick but thats what we want to see right?? Great show IMO!

    Just a question...

Why is it that other bands get ripped to shreds on here for doing similar set-lists but, AC/DC can and its fine? Not trying to cause an argument or debate really, just really had the question lol.

I think that AC/DC is a rite-of-passage for many people. You go to experience the live setting of the band and to see them do their shtick. I think their hardcore fans want the same antics each time they see them on tour (and it's been 7-8 years).

Pearl Jam has a different fan base and expects different things as other bands fans do.

AC/DC built their empire on a specific stage show whereas Pearl Jam built their reputation as an "anything goes" type of band.

  • I thought it was just okay. Severeal years back AC/DC played at that sars festival thing in Toronto. I didn't go. But every single person that went said how amazing AC/DC was and it was the greatest thing they have ever experienced.

I'm not saying it was bad. But I don't see what the big deal is. Brian Johnsons voice is pretty much gone now.

Angus is so fucking cool though. He looks so old, but he's out there rockin' so hard. He looks like he just escaped from a mental hospital.

Saw them in Detroit, great show, great music, great band, they do not disappoint. It was also nice to go to a concert without any politcal talk, saw him the day after the election and Brian Johnson said "congratulations I hear you got a new boss" which was greeted with some boos, and that was it for the politics which was very refreshing. Another nice thing was very few camera flashes going off, quite honestly those point and shoot camera flashes can get annoying. Anyone going will not be disappointed, just pure strait rock n roll.

Good question, I figure it this way if that is what ac/dc does and they do it well, and the fans enjoy it and the tours are sold out, why change.

I love PJ and they have loyal following but whens the last time they sold out arena venues in minutes and scalpers could garner a 1000 bucks? In Toronto last night 45000 sold out show, impressive to say the least, very few rock bands can do that to say the least. I saw them at the palace of Auborne Hills, sold out in minutes in an area where the economy is shit, so its preety hgard to condemn them for what works.

Thats a good question and one I've asked myself too. I think that some bands (like Pearl Jam sad to say) have a fan base that is nearly impossible to please. All one has to do is read this board to see the endless bitching that occurs to matter WHAT PJ plays on a given night.
I admit I've been one of those people that complain about hearing Even Flow so much but the AC/DC concert reminded me that not everyone is a diehard like me and are there specifically to hear stuff like Even Flow, Alive and Jeremy. I think I'll be a little less critical of PJ on their next tour as a result.

Pearl Jam are a product of their own making just as AC/DC are. Pearl Jam like the 'exclusive' tag that's why they do the whole fan club, set list thing..whatever. AC/DC just want to play rock and roll, they don't care too much about anything else, everyone knows what they're gonna get from an AC/DC show, thay don't over complicate their existence :o

  • From the accounts I've read, it sounds like they're only playing for 1 hr. 45 min., that seems really short for a band with so much material. I know they're old and cannot play on back to back nights, but still it seems too short for me. I'll see them in Atlanta fro the first time since Ballbreaker in 95
