So I went to a party last night and begin talking to this nice guy I met randomly and the topic of music came up. He asked me what my favorite band was and of course I said Pearl Jam and I got the typical "Yeah I like Pearl Jam" then he said "Have you heard of Muse?" I said yeah and that I had got a few of their albums from a friend about a year ago but never listened to them. He said "You've got to hear them! I'd say they're one of the best bands of our time." So he inspired and I gave "Absolution" a listen and so far I like it. It has a great sound! Discuss...

Absolution is a great album. Love it!

Black Holes & Revelations is a great listen too - Starlight & Knights of Cydonia will get you hooked.

Origin Of Symmetry and Black Holes & Revelations are also great albums. Once you've immersed yourself in their studio stuff a little bit, H.A.A.R.P. is one of the best live albums/DVDs I've ever seen.

I love Muse. All the albums are great in their own way, and they really do have a great sound. Definitely one of the best bands of the decade.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

And after immersing yourself in the audio, get yourself to the real thing:

Muse live is a whole other animal!

Amen! Words can barely describe Muse live, they're just immense.

that is a phenomenal live album.

i think i'm the only person who thinks 'absolution' is their weakest effort by far. it's just too long and to dragging and same-y by the end. at least the two before that were a bit more lean and focused. black holes and revelations kicks ass.

i like muse, but if ever a band was ripe for a compilation, it's them. great live act and album, but black holes aside, their albums are horribly inconsistent. i like variety as much as anyone, but when they go into a slow song on the album it's painful. piercing wailing vocals over a boring piano line.

the next song usually kicks ass though ;)
    and like that... he's gone.
