Its been a long time since the boys played a regular show in Seattle. Yah, they did the Gorge but thats not a true Seattle show, and the small venue shows are impossible to get tickets for.

I'd even take a mistake laden warm up show at this point!

I know, what could be easier? Play a gig, then go home to your own bed.

    *sigh*

I'm not losing the faith!!! :)

weird how Seattle has been neglected. Whenever they do play there again you can bet it will be very special.

Do you think it's because of a lack of suitable venues? I've heard bits and pieces about the Key Arena dispute with the Sonics. Do you think Pearl Jam is not playing there because of political reasons? When they played the Key in 2002, Eddie thanked the city of Seattle for "handing them the keys to the Key." Does this mean they have to get permission from the city council?
  • I'd bet serious money that the "April Fools Tour" has something to do with Seattle on the 1st.
C'mon.....you cant have an April fools tour with no april fools right????? How awesome would it be for PJ to kick off Eddies tour at home.

Showbox is still open on April 1 among a few other venues
There's only a few days to go if it's the case :D

I arrive on the 31st ;) just in case!

    fingers crossed :)

I'm from NYC, but I'm hoping they play a show or a few shows in Seattle. I visited Seattle for the first time last year, and fell in love with the city. I plan on going back this year, and it would be great if I could go there and see a show or two while I'm there.

I guarantee they will play there...hopefully in the early fall. :)

    RIGHT????? WTF:eek:

I have no proof either......HOWEVER.....the old "secret warm up show" that they announce 48 hours before it actually happens seems fitting :)

After Blaisdell and the Vic I wouldnt put it past them. :D

Sombody else asked the question earlier today:

It would be nice, but I've long given up hope. They played a couple of Key Arena warmup shows at the end of 2002, but haven't played Seattle as part of a tour since 2000.

That's a long fuckin' drought for the hometown crowd.

    I am starting to. :(

I haven't posted anything on here since the east coast tour was announced, because i just don't have anything positive to say. I am losing hope fast.

I guess I just figured the only reason why Ed would have skipped his hometown on his special little solo tour (while actually being here) was because the band as a whole had plans to take care of their hometown region (whether that be the Gorge or the Key) and play something really special for us. I had convinced myself that that was going to be part of the announcement last week. When all that was announced was a short run east coast tour only, I was (and still am) very crushed. Sorry, but I feel absolutely no excitement for Boston, NY, or NJ.

Between Ed skipping Seattle and the whole band skipping the entire west coast - I am losing faith.

And by this point, if Ed does play a secret show in Seattle on 4/1, that would still be pretty fucked up because no one has time to plan to go to a show - or basically get the same advanced warning that everyone else got. I mean, 4/1 is 8 days away and we've heard nothing.

If Pearl Jam didn't mean so much to me, if i haven't been in the 10C for 14 years and following their career for almost 18 years - then this wouldn't matter to me.
  • I'm guessing that since they have such a huge, global fanbase, it's gotten harder and harder for them to do special shows here in their hometown. Nevertheless, this is where they started out and got the intial support that helped them to get to where they are now. Not to sound ungrateful, I'd like to think that would count for something. But if they can't play here in the near future, I'll just keep patiently waiting for them and continue to give them my support.

It would be funny if they had a policy of this - every time someone mentions 'play place x' they delay it by a year.

They'll play Seattle again when Soundgarden reforms and they have someone to co-headline with.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!
