Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros

I am a huge clash fan and I believe that the posthumerous album Streetcore was an amazing album for Joe.
I was listening to the album tonight and I thought it would be cool if Eddie covered "silver and gold" at some point. It would be a fitting sing along at a solo show or a pre-set.
What does everyone else think?

And yes, Streetcore is a hidden gem of an album! Personally, I LOVE Coma Girl and I think Ramshackle Day Parade is one of the coolest things Joe ever recorded!

I've always felt this, or Nitcomb would be good Ed solo covers.
Other thoughts ....
Ted Leo actually has done Johnny Appleseed live a few times. It is such a great song.
If you haven't already, you should pick up "The Future is Unwritten" DVD ... well done bio about Strummer. (Made me want to go find some 101ers music).
Finally, as a poster collector, I have several Strummer prints ...
Adam Turman:
Gary Houston - (next on my list of prints to get framed, actually)

Would love to hear the guys cover pretty much any Clash/Mescaleros song. Not sure it would suit their style, but my favourite Clash song at the moment is Hateful, I love that song!
Apologies to anyone who's already read this story....
I grew up with the Clash (3 older siblings) and when I was around 5 they had a clash lyric/song book that they used to give me and I'd sing along. I distinctly remember one time singing along happily to Stay Free, and when the lyric of 'piss on everyone in the classroom' came on they turned the stereo off and I sung it with gusto, only to realise what I'd sung too late. I cried and went to tell my Mam that they'd "made me swear again"!
True story - I was once an innocent and they corrupted me

They were going to open the Australia 2003 shows and then Strummer died. Johnny Marr and his band were the replacements.

amen to that ... moving stuff.

Johnny Appleseed and Coma Girl are my fave tunes ... but, I would love to see them jam out to Get Down Moses
