Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
2 Minutes and 32 seconds? what a fucking travesty. it ends so abruptly. would one more verse have killed them? sometimes 2 and half mins is enough for a song...but this isn't one of them.

The studio version of Porch is too sort as well.

most Beatles tunes
yeah but a lot of Beatles tunes fit perfectly with the limited time. I said White Rabbit earlier because it seems that for that song in particular, 2:32 just isn't enough. it could have been an epic, Zeppelin-style song. now as for the Beatles, take a song like Back in the USSR. it's only about 2:40 but they fit everything that needs to be fit into it in that time. same could be said for Yesterday and Eleanor Rigby, both of which run just over 2 minutes. and many of their pre-Rubber Soul songs would have just ended up being repetitive if they ran longer.

It still pisses me off to this day that the studio Comfortably Numb ends on a fade out. That's just ridiculous.
i fucking hate songs that fade out. pearl jam does this way too much.
agreed.
Soundgarden's Ty Cobb is the first one my list. There should be another minute of the mandola (or whatever it is) soloing at the end.
also, the rocking part of Led Zeppelin's Bring It On Home comes to mind.
I'M NOT A SLAVE TO A WORLD THAT DOESN'T GIVE A SHIT.
This is a perfect example of why I hate fade outs. Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion and Draw The Line are two others. Neil's Cortez The Killer and Cowgirl In The Sand come to mind, as does Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love. There are way too many great Zappa tunes that fade out too.
