Tampa Hotels

Can someone who lives in Tampa, maybe give a few names of hotels that are not far from the Forum?

If you could just pass a long a few options, it'd be real helpful. I am driving up from Miami.

Appreciate it.
All we know is there is a letter, a porch, people who don't wave, and something about a box or a bag.

    Stay at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. It is within crawling distance! Not sure of the rates but it is certainly the closest and nicest!

    For the Early Bird flight on Friday morning, there is also at Marriott at the airport - Tampa Airport Mariott. You can literelly walk from the hotel lobby right into the airport. It does not get any easier. A cab ride from Airport to the St Pete Times forum is about a $20 ride and about 15-25 minutes depending on traffic.

    No names for you in Tampa. All the ones I'd recommend are on the beach.

    But fair warning - pay a little extra to stay in a decent place. Tampa has some VERY shady areas.

    Full List - (sorted by distance)

    Marriott Waterside - A few years old, very nice (Crawling Distance)
    Embassy Suites Downtown - It is Brand Spanking New (Walking Distance)
    Westin Hotel - Nice - Very close to St Pete Times Forum (Walking Distance)
    Hyatt Regency - Same Quality as Westin (maybe 1/2 mile walk)
    Sheraton Riverwalk - Older Hotel but is nice (maybe 3/4 mile walk)
    Courtyard/Residence Inn - Newer (maybe 1 mile walk)

    Those are the only ones I would recommend directly in downtown.

    Just booked at Waterside. Stayed there the last time. The hotel is very nice...

    I don't know what's around the Forum to do before the show, i.e. bars, restaurants, pubs, etc. Any other suggestions?

    ...it sucks.... go see the show then head to the beach.

    I drive by Victoria whenever I drive to Houston. McAllen is about 100 miles south of Alice.

    Yeah. I'm hoping folks who are sober enough to drive after the show stay at the beach to see how nice parts of the area are. And the rates in June are about as low as they get.

    Plus, what better way to wake up after a PJ show than to walk through the white sand and jump in the Gulf.
