This really deserves it's own thread....

One of the best Hip Hop albums I've ever heard, Black Thought owns this album.....

Wow, I thought I was alone on this one. This album gets the least respect out of anything they've done since Things Fall Apart, but it is my clear favorite of theirs. It's just a fun, loose album, it really goes against their serious mood they push out on most of their other LPs.

Great album, it's always a lot of fun to listen to.

I love The Roots and while I like this album I would not say its their best. I'd say Things Fall Apart is their best by far. But this one was nice to hear after Phrenology, which I felt they tried too hard on.

  • I'm relatively new to the Roots, and personally find Things Fall Apart hard to get into, where as Game Theory, Tipping Point and Rising Down knocked me out instantly.....

Just keep listening to it :).

It took me some time to get into but now I almost know it by heart. Amazing stuff. My favorite rap album ever.

I think Things Fall Apart is probably their best album, but it is nowhere near as fun to listen to as The Tipping Point. Some of the songs on TFA are just amazing, it's a very strong album from start to finish, but TTP has such a great vibe to it, it's been my most listened to of theirs since it came out.
  • you know to be honest, i enjoyed ttp when it came out, but after a few months it just kind of slipped off my radar, which is pretty rare when it comes to the roots. i'm gonna have to break it back out tonight, so thanks for the reminder. it's so nice that people are discussing hip hop on here again, there was a serious drought for a while

I was the exact opposite. I hated it at first. Since then it has really grown on me.

  • their early stuff is the best, give it time it will grow on you, they are incredible live too!
