It's taken me so long to fully appreciate the depth and brilliance of this artist.....

I'm starting to prefer him to the Beatles.....I never thought anyone would surpass my love for the Beatles......

Today I bought John Wesley Harding, Modern Times and Desire.....the diversity is amazing......

  • John Wesley Harding is by far my favourite Dylan album, lyrically, and I love most of them. It's as if he scraped off some of the Beat poetry-influenced excess that slightly hampered his previous three albums, and wrote afresh with a clear, pure vision. John Wesley Harding's got maturity, poise, and an understated depth. Maybe the accident-induced layoff and basement sessions of 1966-67 gave him a lot of time to think about how best to say what he had to say.

I went through a big Dylan stage in High School, about ten years ago. Still listen to him quite a bit when the mood strikes. Best lyricist ever IMO.
