Cool Idea about song requests for pj.com...

It would be neat if the guys could put up a song request link on their home page. I know other bands do this for tours... ( i.e. wilco... http://wilcoworld.net/ ). They even get to write what the song means to them and why they want it played.

It would be easy for a programmer to make a database to compile the songs into. I know we are already lucky to have different sets every night. It would just be neat to have a fan requested song in the set.

what does everyone think?

i think the band should play what they want to play.

    they aren't a jukebox.
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam
  • about an hour ago there were 5 threads about song requests for different cities on the first page of the porch. I agree they should play what they want when they want... however in the past they have taken requests for songs in cities out of the goodness of their hearts. Just an idea. Sorry for the wilco reference... sorry i offended you. I could of suggested ben kweller, ben folds, or bone thugs. those are other bands that do requests for shows when i googled it an hour ago.

I've never heard of Wilco until this board wouldn't shut up about him. What's the deal? Is it just a running joke or something?

Man some people here are really weird and defensive.

    Anyway, I think it's a great idea.

that IS a great idea. And for that other person who said the band was not a jukebox, well, we kind of paid for their multiple houses in every fucking corner of the world and countless trips to surf heavens and shit for all these years, so yeah, they should play what we want to hear. Luckily though, 99% of the time what they want to play IS what we want to hear. So it works out well at the end.

You didn't GIVE them money. Nor did we pay for any of their riches. I hope you'd agree that you yourself got something in return. They don't owe us anything for their success. It's an exchange between bands and fandom. We certainly have gotten just as much over the years as they did, atleast I hope so, or else we have wasted our money.
