    AIC supporting GNR..... hmmmm.....

Yes it happened!!! But you have to remember that Alice in Chains used to be Alice N' Chainz in an attempt to be Seattle's answer to Guns N' Roses and Duff(Himself an integral part of Seattle Gurnge History) went down to LA with Greg Gilmore to join Guns, before Greg came back to join Mother Love Bone.... so while the bands don;t stand for the same thing... they're cut from pretty similar clothe....

As a side note.... Guns N' Roses surprised me by putting on an amazing show... My photos for that will be uploaded pretty soon...

Hey Neil! Thanks for the pics! I'm seeing AIC tomorrow at the Astoria - can't wait. Saw bits on TV from the Dowload festival and they did look good!

So.... Gn'R... I was wondering how that would be. I did like the original Gn'R and saw them during the AFD tour. Did they play new stuff or mainly stick to 'old' material? What about Axl? Still the same energy?

If you give me a week I'll blog the gig.... Basically the band were shit hot... No complaints at all.. except they had a twiddler showing off every now and then which I always hate... They had three guitarists until the special guest(Izzy Stradlin) made it four....

I reckon there was only 3 songs off Appetite that they didn;t play... Axl looks like you're ambarrasing uncle dancing at a wedding... but it's still axl rose underneath it all...

The ex-Nine inch nails guitarist fills slash's shoes adequately... and they have stones lookalike guitarist, who has a great blues based rythym sound....

You know it's not the real thing... but its definately worth seeing.....

I didn't wear the kilt. Basically cos it was about 35 degrees, but I'm pretty glad... it would have got ruined in the dust.

Thanks for that! Will be reading your blog (though I always find it a bit intrusive reading someone else's stuff!).

It's not stalking... I prefer the term strategic following...

I'm sorry, but AIC is not AIC without Layne. Jerry's solo career was going nowhere, so hey, why not exploit the old cash cow? I'd see this AIC only if Jerry paid me to out of his own pocket.

Yeah.... I was really apprehensive before I went... the remnants of two bands... motives for doing it aside, I went to see three members of a great band perform some great songs.... I really enjoyed it. It felt really strange watching AIC without Layne, but it would also feel really strange hearing someone talk about going to see the gig in the future and me not having taken the chance to go...
