"I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions." - George Carlin
not to sound biased, but i think Inside Job is a mindblowing closer for an album. It just leaves you thinking, 'Gez i wish this would never end'

damn, those are some good ones. i love inside job. but my vote has to go to what is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs of all time and summarizes in 3 minutes what any "cutting edge" rock bands has tried to do with entire albums ever since:
tomorrow never knows -the beatles
i also dig the simplicity of 40 by u2.
and for kicks ill throw in a guilty pleasure of mine:
champagne supernova -oasis
The Beatles hold this title. There is no beating "A Day In The Life" for a closer. The only song in the same universe is "Tomorrow Never Knows" from Revolver.
I give an honourable mention to Nirvana's "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" off of the Unplugged disc.
Four pages and no one has mentioned Sigur Ros' Popplagio/The Pop Song/Track 8 on () ? For SHAME.
Um... I'm fucking dumb. I listen to this song nearly everyday. It's the best song to take a nap too... actually, all of their stuff is... you just lie there and listen to the music, it makes the atmosphere of sleeping more dreamy... haha... if that makes any sense, but yes, I completely agree with you, one of the best closing songs.
And I also agree with Inside Job... it reminds me a lot of Bruce Springsteen, mainly because of the piano that's in the song, but it also is just like how Springsteen would end it, with a nice melodic bang.
PJ- All those yesterdays, release
