i picked up the album like many others for Paul Simonon, i saw them live like many others for Paul Simonon, but i just cant get into the music, perhaps because i hate the sound of Damon Albarns voice
My newest thing recommendation is The Hold Steady ... check 'em out.
Will do!
The Good, The Bad and The Queen is really easy going, but if you don't like Albarns voice you'll have a tiny problem, since it's all over the recording..
same here. It is generally enjoyable music, but it is very forgettable. Nothing horrible, but not as good as it should have been considering the players involved.
i quite like the album but there are definite peaks-the title track, herculean, kingdom of doom-and there are some weaker songs that begin to sound the same. listening to it the whole way through is great though
I've faced it, a life wasted, and I'm never going back again.
I, like so many others bought the CD and went to the concert just to see and hear Paul Simonon. I actually like the CD and I thought they were even better live.
Any Clash fans out there digging Carbon Silicon (Mick Jones).
Maybe I'm just mellow, but I like the low pitched summer vibe to it, the sound fx and the interplay of the members. I'm not a big fan of any1 in the group so no expectations on my part, perhaps that helps the listening experience? The other day I saw a live performance and really thought they nailed it. I actually didnt enjoy Gorillaz that much so this was a nice surprise!

Brave to try to gamble at times
