Never mind that link about the album it comes from, A Web of Sound. Here's my - the finster's - take on it.
A fucking masterpiece of a garage jam, it is. if you like The Doors' first album, and VU's second album, hear Up in Her Room, the last song. It's between both, in sound. Somehow it sounds more authentic. I know there's this theory that if something was really good enough in its time, it wouldn't be re-discovered by cranks years later because it would have pushed its way through. In the case of Up in Her Room, it both languished in obscurity, and pushed its way to the top because everyone was ripping it off. (Remember The Seeds were around as a live band before 1967, too.)
