    Man,,,, talk about music that's hard to play! I'm one of a thousand guitarists to pass through that band and I'm one of the few never to have gotten kicked out or left in a hurry. :D

    Trout has better music and I love the two slide guitar combo, but Decals is far better produced and the guitar/marimba combo gives off a very interesting color, so it's a toss-up for me.

    Can't go wrong with that one either! That's probably the most fun album of the bunch, too. It just gets weirder and weirder as it goes on! :D
    Ry Cooder's guitar work is great on that one, too.

    Yep, it is cleaner, but you don't get stuff like

    Yes they're albums by Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band.

    That youtube clip is cool but you can't hear the sensitive guitar interplay!

    After that there was the cheesy year around 1974 and early 75 where he toured and he pretty much disavowed the band and it became the “tragic band”.
    I picked up with the band in 1975 when he was redoing everything. I lasted for almost a year without getting kicked out!

    I used to love standing there playing and looking at the looks of wonder and fear in the audience’s eyes! Like WTF is this! :D
