The old bop musicians are now dropping like flies. In another 5 years they will be all gone. Well, thank god for recorded sound. We can always enjoy a now by gone era of creativity in America.

    Long live bop/hard bop!

that really sucks. seems like all the old jazz legends are dying recently.

however awesome Roach undoubtedly was though, no one will ever be as great as Buddy Rich.
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
