So after looking at the post on this IS Severed Hand in a Honda Commercial?
I was thinking about the bigger issue....music today has become so homogenized that we can't decipher the original from the copycats. Long gone are the originators that had something to say. You look at what's in the Billboard top 5 and it's all shite. Even in rock today where the hell are the people that make us feel something. For me music, real music isn't just something you listen to, it moves you.
I mean if someone tells me they get a chill when listening to say Nickleback or Godsmack(way to sulley a great bands song), fine, I'll say they're lying. Now some tunes today do have a catchiness to them, but hell if you can play a guitar you can play a hook.
Someone posted about RATM, man I miss those guys. Sure their message was overt but when you heard them you KNEW how they felt not only in the lyrics, but the beats, Morrello's playing, hell the name itself...no now we get the watered down version of two seminal bands that has no real focus, each album is all over the place.
Allright I'm getting off my soapbox.

I know but corporate idiots still manage to fuck up. I mean how did the Godzilla guy's miss the lyrics to No Shelter?
No Shelter
The main attraction - distraction
got ya number than number than numb
Empty your pockets son; they got you thinkin that
What you need is what they sellin
Make you think that buyin is rebellin
From the theaters to malls on every shore
The thin line between entertainment and war
The frontline is everywhere, there be no shelter here
Speilberg the nightmare works so push it far
Amistad was a whip, the truth was feathered and tarred
Memory erased, burned and scarred
Trade in your history for a VCR
Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth Reich culture - Americana
Chained to the dream they got you searchin for
The thin line between entertainment and war
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
Hospitals not profitful
The market bulls got pockets full
To advertise some hip disguise
View the world from American eyes
The poor adore keep fiendin for more
The thin line between entertainment and war
They fix the need, develop the taste
Buy their products or get laid to waste
Coca-Cola is back in the veins of Saigon
And Rambo too, he got a dope pair of Nikes on
And Godzilla pure muthafuckin filler
Get your eyes off the real killer
Cinema, simulated life, ill drama
Fourth Reich culture - Americana
Chained to the dream they got you searchin for
The thin line between entertainment and war
There be no shelter here
The frontline is everywhere
American eyes, American eyes....
View the world from American eyes
Bury the past, rob us blind
And leave nothin behind
Just stare
Relive the nightmare
