Do you think about music all the time?

it seeps through my clothing. I wake up and its with me. I wake up precisely because of it. I think about it day and night. If I am not at a show, I want to be at one. Its like I am completely emmersed in music. It oozes out my pours. I eat, sleep and drink music. I even had a dream the other day that some album hit the shelves before it's release date!

Music has always been pretty important to me. But at a certain point recently, its become the be all and end all. It became REALLY important.

Anyone else like this?

  • Very important to me. I like to have music going as much as possible. At work, home, anywhere, music is my favorite.

my dream last night was of me running through cleveland killing zombies before they spread the disease to everyone.

    so no. :)

seriously though, i'll take a good book any day.
    and like that... he's gone.
  • my days off consist of waking up, putting music on. coming on here to check the other music forum. drink some coffee while checking my music groups on facebook. then i get dressed and walk to a record store with my ipod on. i go to the record store to just look around, see what i can find. this one, zulu, i go to a lot because they have free local posters there, and i sort of archive them at my house. i probably go to to 2 or 3 music stores on my days off. when i come home i watch dvds or youtube some videos and spin records and talk on here about music.

days off are all music all the time. days that i work are mostly music most of the time.

music is really important to me and I do think about it a lot. I listen to music all day. I don't even like people riding in the car with me b/c they are normally talking over the music. That being said, I do think about other things. I wouldnt say music is the reason I get out of bed but its a huge part of my life. And, of course, there are times music is more important than other times. When things aren't going so well I can put on certain songs on that always make things a little better.
  • I AM music....fo shizzle.

  • Music is great because it gives me something to look forward to every day, even when the rest of my day may be shit.
  • i don't really *think* about it per se, just because it surrounds me all day and night. i have it on all day at work (i'd go nuts otherwise!) and i have it on at home. it's like breathing, it's involuntary, just naturally there :)
  • i'm very much the same... i'll have a 'song of the week' that i find myself humming to basically 24/7

this week it's miss you love by silverchair

I dont know what I'd do without music. I'm so happy they let me listen to my iPod all day at work.....I don't know what I'd do without it. I'm pretty sure my iPod is my most valued posession.

Music is even in my dreams. I had a really vivid dream last week that I was hanging out w/ Eddie and Mike backstage before a PJ show. I thought it happened for real when I first woke up, but once I came to my senses I realized it was only a dream.
  • Yeps! :D If i'm not thinking about the gigs i'm soon to be attending, it's gigs i've recently been too and i'm always in band t-shirts! :o I also normally have some random lyric rattling round my noggin... It's These Days by REM at the min :D
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    Music is everything.

Nothing else can hold my attention the way music does.

It's this all consuming compulsive beast that just continues to occupy every inch of my brain.

I used to think I had some kind of weird perversion or derangment towards it.

I look around my group of friends and no one else seems match my intensity towards music. They all claim to love it...but not like me.

It's all I want to do.

Play guitar or listen to music.

    Eat, Sleep and Fuck....sure

    But Music is King.

Music is truly a human art form. Evokes emotions, calms, enrages, brings tears to your eyes, all while getting away from everything that has been causing you trouble.

I don't think about it all day, but it's never too far from my mind.

I got music constantly playing in my head, whether it's a full song or just one or two lines because I don't remember the rest.
  • Music is the most important thing in my life. That's why I'm so worried about heading to university in two weeks; it's not the same for the vast majority of people (as indicated by their musical tastes).

  • i've read that musical tastes shouldnt be a big deal when choosing a mate, but music is such a big deal to me, she has to have good taste in music or i dont see how we could ever get along.

i couldnt imagine seriously dating a girl who isnt a huge music fan and only listens to top 40.

I know exactly what you mean. They'd have to have a lot going on before I would compromise that too.

Gotta say, I would never let music dictate who I would date :p. That's verging into Nick Hornby territory.

It's with me all the time and it's pretty much the only constant in my life

I used to ive in Vancouver, I lost many afternoons to browsing zulu records, reading this thread has made me smile
  • There is constantly a song playing in my head. I also use music as a historic calender in some ways. For example, I was watching the movie South Central the other night and I noticed the movie came out in 1992. My first thought was, "Man...Nevermind was huge at that point."
