But seriously, I doubt it'll have much of an impact. People will say "Wasn't that a novel way of doing things?" but I don't think record companies will take on the 'name your price' style of marketing.
Other cool ways of marketing have popped up in the past but haven't been copied since (like for NIN's last album they left USBs with a track on in the bathrooms of NIN gigs for people to find) so I'm guessing this will be the same.
