Piggybacking off my thread of movies, whats the most intense/emotional and draining song or album?

I have three albums I would add to the list:

Nick Drake-pink moon

Jerry cantrell-degradation trip 1 and 2

nine inch nails-the fragile

    Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
Neutral Milk Hotel - Two-Headed Boy pt 1

I mean christ... the end of the NMH song is stunning.

"I will take you and leave you alone,
watching spirals of white softly flow
over your eyelids and all you did,
we wait until the point when you let go"
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
  • NIN- The Downward Spiral. I've actually forced myself to stay away from that album for the time being. It was there for me during a critical time, but I don't have the emotional energy for it right now. My God, it's draining. But I'll always love it.

album-wise, Dirt by Alice in Chains used to slay me. It doesn't have the same effect on me now and I kind of feel like I've outgrown them but I'll always love it. Rain when I die still gets me.

Right now I am listening to Document #8 by Pageninetynine. One of the most intense records ever. It kind of takes your breath away. suffocatingly abrasive.

oh yes. No one does piano ballads like Cave. so amazing.

also, (Are you) the one I've been waiting for

"There's a man who spoke wonders, though I've never met him
He said: "He who seeks, finds, and who knocks, will be let in,"
I think of you in motion and just how close you are getting
And how every little thing anticipates you"
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
  • I'll second The Downward Spiral.

Also, All Apologies and Where Did You Sleep Last Night off of Unplugged.

Life By The Drop by SRV, as it really was the end.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
