Just listened to Volume 4 and the self titled debut album from Black Sabbath and am blown away. Such an amazing band. I rank Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page as the two greatest guitarists, but why in lists of great guitarists is Tony Iommi never mentioned. I would rank his guitar work on those two albums as some of the best axe work I have ever heard.

Black Sabbath are amazing

Hell yeah! Sabbath is amazing. Any form of metal around is the product of sabbath. Tony Iommi does deserve more credit than he gets. He was an exceptional guitarist and musician. He can play jazz/classical/rock/blues/metal and everything in betwee. His solos on Planet Caravan are incredible. I could keep going on here but I'll just end it by saying Black Sabbath is fucking awesome.

Iommi gets plenty of props. He's basically the godfather of metal by all accounts. I've never read a single article in which he's been dissed :). The guy is better with prosthetic fingertips than most people will ever be with real ones.
  • I love the story about him makiing his first prosthetic finger. He tells it on the Black Sabbath reunion DVD. Good stuff.

yes tony is a guitar badass & one of the greatest. they all fit very well together. a true one of a kind band. their tunes are hypnotic in nature & should be blasted loudly & repeatedly until your stereo & ears falls apart

They've been on a "final tour" for 30 years now, lol…

Listen to Masters Of Reality. Some really good stuff on there too!

Lol something tells me this is really it.

My dad skipped school to see Sabbath on their first US tour. Would be pretty cool if I got to see them on their last!

Yeah, the way Iommi is talking, I'd say this is the end of touring at least. He says he still loves gigging, but the touring takes a toll.
  • I got sweet tickets this morning to the Vancouver show. It doesn't hurt that one of my favorite bands Rival Sons is their opener.

I had awesome tickets in my cart for MSG, but I let 'em go, hoping they make it up to Boston.
    I SAW PEARL JAM
  • They have said that more dates will be announced so there is hope.

Scored really good floor seats for the Tacoma show. :rock_on:

I was thinking those would be European dates. We'll see. :i_dunno:
