Brilliant movie! Definitely one of the greatest films ever made.
"I try my best to chug, stomp, weep, whisper, moan, wheeze, scat, blurt, rage, whine, and seduce. With my voice I can sound like a girl, the boogieman, a Theremin, a cherry bomb, a clown, a doctor, a murderer. I can be tribal. Ironic. Or disturbed. My voice is really my instrument."

I absolutely LOVE this movie. But, then again, I'm only one of the "out of focus guys", so what do I know. ;)

Easily the greatest music movie ever, aside from This Is Spinal Tap.

    ummm.....and singles?

yeah, there are so many good songs that didn't even make it on to the almost famous soundtrack...the river by joni mitchell, mona lisas and mad hatters by elton john, etc.

Singles wasn't a movie specifically about music though. Crowe just wanted to capture the feel of the Pacific Northwest scene and was able to easily integrate some of the bands into the movie and Cliff being in a band wasn't the main story nor did his band really get a whole lot of attention in the movie.

to keep on subject though, I do love Almost Famous :)

IMO Singles has the better Soundtrack. There is not a bad song on it.
