Why did tool's album leak?

Anyone find it ironic, a few weeks back someone posted about how tool is so secretive and they don't have leaks of their songs and album's because the band only has one copy of their album or something like that, and they are in the room when they play the record for the record exec's.

Its funny that Vicarious was leaked, and now the entire album is leaked.

Did this happen with Lateralus?

    Maynard was arrested and in his jail cell a very large overpowering bubba character intorduced him to the true meaning of a Tool song title and the album was dislodged from his posession.

    Because that's where i was pretty sure they were keeping all the mastered copies until now........pretty interesting it leaked

    They probably have tons of copies being shipped to wharehouses and such as it is released in Australia the 28th. All it takes is one copy from the manufacturing plant to shipping, etc, for it to leak. I'm not surprised.

    do you have the album?? i have it but havent given it the sit down listen it deserves.

    Im sticking with the theroy its a decoy.. Or at least some of it is.. I can always hope..

    i think the better question is "Why does this not sound like Maynard?" Vicarious sounds like him, but other than that, who is singing?

    That might inspire him to write another record earlier than 5 years from now.

    The Tool message board members have been waiting on it. There are a few people that were plannin on takin it from the stores, warehouses etc, that they work.

    Halfway through and I am lovin it. Vicarious is much better leadin into Jambi.

    A lot of stations are giving it away as promo leading up to the release. Here in DC, DC101 is giving it out and then qualifying the cd winners for a trip to go to the NYC show. So that's one way it happened.

    They say that this B-material is.

    I havent DL'd any leaked songs but I read in a music magazine that Maynard has found a whole new approach to singing. Instead of stressing whole syllables he just stresses a part of a syllable of a word. Maybe that's why he sounds so different.

    BTW, I realize this sounds crazy but they reported it, not me ;)
    Well, do you need a lot of what you've got to survive?

    There has been a definate progression from Opiate till this album.
    More and more emphasis slowly on the band and less on Maynard.
    If anyone went to any Lateralus tour shows they would remember
    you could hardly even see Maynard. He stood behind the band.

    And his voice is getting more of a whisper to it.

    This is one reason I am enjoying Maynards work on A Perfect Circle.
    He seems to "sing" more on APC stuff. Its a different side to his voice.

    It's all one big test by tool to see who the true fans are, you see while the rest of the world is listeneing to the "real" album come may 2nd the "bad" fans wi'll be stuck rotting in a cell next to the guy who hacked into porno sites and uploaded pictures of himself. the real punnishment will be knowing the album that you thought was the new tool album was really just some polished up demos slapped togther. ;)
