Sober question

Always wondered about the line, "waiting like a stalking butler, who upon the finger rests" what the hell does this line mean.

I always get a mental image of one of those murder mysteries, about how "the butler did it".

Its a wierd line.

    I think that's what it means. It's a reference to being the focus of attention I think. This is in accordance with the theory that Sober is about isolation.

    i always thought that sober was about religion. or faith. or lack of. or having too much. or relying so heavily on something and have it disappoint you cause it's not giving you what you need. or you're not getting out of it what you need..........or.... or it's TOOL. who the fuck knows what the hell they're going on about most of the time. :D
    i try to get what they're going on about, but it just makes my head hurt. so i stop thinking and just listen to the guitarman. :)
