Great band, just great summer tunes

To me, its life affirming to hear I put a spell on you, the instrumental part, with the guitar moaning and humming. Its mindblowing

My dad was a huge CCR fan ... next to Dylan and the Stones, they're probably who I listened to most as a little kid. I still love all these albums ... they make me think of care-free summers :)

Aaah!! What an amazing contribution Creedence has made to my life!! :D

    Thanks Daddo!!!

One of my favorite memories is of Dad, with Born On The Bayou or Heard It Through the Grapevine, cranked up to 11, tapping his foot and doing that cool little dance thing that he does. :)

Just being surrounded by a wall of Creedence sound is such an awesome experience.

And so now I'm having to listen, just at the suggestion of them.

    Thanks Che!!! :D

Maybe not 11 for a little bit, it is a Public Holiday here after all, but later, yep, later, might even crank em to 12 and surround myself with a wall of Creedence!!! :D
    NOPE!!!

I saw Fogerty in concert last year and it was the best non-PJ concert I've ever been to.

ahhh, brings back such good memories. and yes, definitely happy summer music. besides pj and the beatles, i've probably listened to ccr more than anyone. i agree that fogerty was pretty great in concert. you can't be in a bad mood wheen you listen to "centerfield".
  • Creedance, along w/ Tom Petty are great nostalgia inducing bands. Great songs just to chill out to.

When i played baseball in high school we always warmed up to centerfield and some ac/dc. Always got us in a great mood and ready to play :D

John Fogerty kicks ass. He should just tour under the name CCR. The guy is CCR as far as I'm concerned.
  • AnonAnon Posts: 11,175
he is one of the best performers around today. his energy is unbelievable and he plays everything that the crowd wants to hear. i saw him at pnc bank arts center this past summer, and bruce springsteen came out to do the encore with him. what a treat. the place went nuts. as far as i am concerned those are two of the best performers we have today.

CCR also sound good on a warm, rainy spring night. Especially after doing a J or taking a bong rip. They have that warm, funky, earthy groove that doesn't quit.

i used to work at a pizza hut opening up the store. i'd get done early, have a little "treat", play songs on the jukebox. ccr's version of "heard it through the grapevine" was one of my faves.

something about that song on the jukebox is SO great:)

-I wouldn't hold out much hope for the tape deck though.

    -or the Creedence

yeah, as demonstrated by the fact they sued him for ripping off "run through the jungle" (a ccr song) in "old man down the road" (a solo song). copyright infringement for sounding too much like himself. :D
