Deathcab's "possess ur heart"

This song has some of the cheesiest lyrics I've ever heard, but the beat has really grooved on me. That might be why there's this extended version where they go instrumental for the first few minutes.
Hope you enjoy...I think it has the "In Rainbows" sound. In fact, I think there are a few songs on the radio right now that have that "In Rainbows" sound.

yeah it's great isn't it? this is actually the album version......the radio edit pisses me off because they cut off the best part of the song -- the groovy jam.

the lyrics are not as cheesy as the matress song

this is about the song......not a love/hate reaction to death cab in general.
like the band or not, the song is a departure with the 4 plus minutes of intro, and it's pretty good.

Funny, I didn't mind Death Cab but thought their new album, save this song and the opener, was pretty bad.

Yeah the opening song is great. It took awhile but this record really grew on me
and after I saw them live in June, I couldn't put it down, until June 19 that is

4 plus intro isn't that much of a departure for death cab... or were you saying for music in general?

the jam definitely is a departure for them. they don't do 8 minute songs.

Yeah they do. Transatlanticism(the song) is near 8 minutes. And how can a long song be a departure? Now if they had crazy synths and weird samples incorporated in their music or something like that....that would be a departure. Don't see how the length of a song, if it still sounds like the band, can be a departure.

yeah, they're few and far between buddy. like i said, they still don't do long songs. a long song can be a departure if it's a jam-out with a groovy baseline, which this is-- something they don't normally do. i think it's a departure. i don't think 'i will possess your heart' sounds like a lot of their other stuff. is it a radical change? nah. but i think it is. take it or leave it.

narrow stairs left me wanting a bit more, still some great songs on it though. anybody heard 'rockin' chair' from the band tribute album? (i forget what the album is called) it's good stuff, so is their awesome cover of bjork's 'all is full of love'.
