Hey guys.

I'm looking for fairly new bands that have a very psychedlic, prog-rock feel to them with amazing guitars and a driving rhythm. Bands that have sounds like Dungen, Black Mountain and such, if you know what I mean. Influences like Blue Cheer, too.

Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Try Oceansize and Amplifier, two very good bands from Manchester, UK. They fit your description.

    Touche.

    You beat me to it.

    I've been following them for a while - actually played a gig with Oceansize a couple of years ago.

    They are the better of the two if you ask me.

    Oceansize = Radiohead/ Tool/ Pink Floyd

    Amplifier = Soundgarden/ Pumpkins etc

    Both great though.

    There's this band I listened some tracks not so long ago, they're named Brazil, kinda like the Mars Volta but more focused... not my kind of thing, anyway, so I wouldn't dare to say they're worth checking out... but maybe they're an option.

  • Comets on Fire - Bingo! I already have them, but yeah, awesome band.

    Dead Meadow - forgot about these guys too, great band.

    Six Organs of Admittance - very curious about this band, I feel they're more acoustic, but anywhere I should start?

    Oceansize, Amplifier - sounds interesting. Will check them out!

    Thanks everyone, keep 'em coming if you got more! ;)

  • Check out the Warlocks if you're into Comets on Fire and Dead Meadow. They fit your description more than anything.
