New York City radio

I moved to NYC two months ago, from Columbus Ohio.

I am finding it hard to believe, but as much as radios in Columbus sucked, they seem to suck more here. At least there there were a couple of decent ones.

Am I wrong? Do you have any suggestion?

Well, what do you have on when you listen?

  • 92.3 actually turned back to K-ROCK. It was rock then turned to shit all talk & tanked so it turned back. If you are close to NJ and can pick up G106.3 that is pretty good. But yes unfortunately NYC radio is suprisingly bad.

Thank you everyone, I'll check those out. The frequencies don't look too foreign, I must have bumped into some of those before.

And the CD player in my car got fixed, so now I have less of a need for good radio :)

Yeah KROCK is pretty good - I was stuck in traffic on 95 about a month ago and that kept me sane.

CD101 isn't bad in Columbus. But yeah get Sirius. Sirius has a much better selection of music than XM IMO

Welcome to NYC and yes our radio stations suck. I usually just hook my iPod up into my car and that's what I listen to. As some have already suggested 92.3, 104.3, and if you can get it 105.5 are probably the best we have to offer.

92.3 and 104.3 are the only NYC ones which are good.

102.3 (long island not sure if it reaches NYC), 95.9 (connecticut not sure if it reaches NYC) and 99.1 (connecticut again) are all good too. im not sure if they reach you guys though.

If you're in NYC you'll have no chance getting G106.3 (G-Rock). It's primarily in central/southern Jersey and I can't even get it here and I'm no more than an hour away from the city. Try to see if you can get 105.5 WDHA: Jersey's own rock radio. My favorite station. Why doesn't anyone like KRock??? I think it's pretty good except for the only Tool song they play is The Pot (and they overplay it way too much), the only Classic Rock they play is Led Zeppelin, and they occasionally play Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, you know, those bands that have had their testicles shoved up their asses.

Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I gave up on NYC Radio and got Sirius.

Do it, its worth every penny.

AND... Pearl jam is on constantly.
