They played this again on Oppie and Anthony this morning... along with having Cartman superimposed into it screaming RACE WAR every 5 seconds or so. Sooo funny.

It was a light hearted song. Why are people taking the music so seriously? It is NOT the type of serious material they would put out. I would think that would be pretty obvious.

  • I disagree completely. I think that without ed the band would still be amazing. Different but great. I like choose Bayleaf over Into the Wild.

I think comparing Bayleaf and ITW is kinda hard to do. Stoney could do whatever he wanted on the ablum, where Eddie was constrained by a movie and making songs short. I believe both are SOLID efforts.

Bayleaf does show Stoney shreds, if you don't believe me listen to Pigeon which could easily be a Pearl Jam jam.

If its not a huge embarrassment than why was it taken off the homepage and de-stickied? It's an embarrassment to the band. People are going to criticize them for releasing that.

I'm not taking it seriously and I actually like it and have listened to it many times (including right now) but all they did was change "the clock" to "Barack" and other than that it's exactly the same as the original. I dunno, if somebody else made this song, I'd probably think it totally sucks.

    Or very nice to say...

The three of them, actually, the four, founded the whole band and defined its sound in the first place at the Gossman sessions. Since then. they've been very successful with projects like Bayleaf, Brad, Mad Season, Catholic Boy, Almost famouse etc etc as they are all very talented individuals.

They shouldn't be stoned for one stoned off jib they played studio with...

I, for one, would LOVE to hear the real stuff Cready has been messing around with, judging by the latest DVD soundtrack and all.

    Cready+Gossard+Ament=GOLD

It's just lame, saccharin, winsome, witless "comedy". There's no sting. It's not even funny as a concept. It's not even a good bad pun. It's a bad one. It limps like a eunuch with a wasting disease.

i think bayleaf, temple of the dog, mad season, and brad are better indicators. what it does indicate is that without ed, the band might be allowed to express a sense of humor occasionally and not be forced into shelving songs like sad, fatal, other side, down, and others so that ed can get the dour and depressing sound he wants. instead, we might have a band not afraid to let the loose funk into their sound that got them noticed (think jeremy, alive, even flow... all stone jeff grooves) rather than being dominated by second rate hack attempts at punk songs.
  • didn't mean to be nasty, love to hear all the guys,a well tuned machine, the sum of ALL its parts, no i can't play, thats why i love to listen, but ed is absolutly the icing on the cake! there isn't a betterman
