on the guitar based/alternative front: TOOL, deftones, apc, pumpkins, incubus, ratm, faith no more, aic, soulfly, metallica (old), the butterfly effect (aussie band), slipknot, u2 (old), ledzep, floyd, muse, tommy emmanuel (aussie guitar genius), the tea party... that's the first batch that comes to mind.

a bit of hiphop. not much but a bit ie: pharcyde, cypress hill, easy e.

guilty pleasure:
hehe i'm gonna go out on a limb here... there are a couple of limp bizkit songs i still don't mind

primus, guitar wizards such as yngewie and vai... freak talents but boring to listen to

anything i've heard and so intensley disliked i wouldn't remember the names of really

overrated:
damn near anything you'd hear on the radio.

underrated:
a bunch of aussie bands that i listen to and don't understand why they aren't huge. to name a couple: k-oscilate, the rush effect, epicure, the grand silent system. tommy emmanuel is brilliant too, look for his stuff online
