I got scratches all over my arms, one for each day since I fell apart.
Me you wouldn't recall for I'm not my former.

About ten years ago I got hired by a big-ass athletic footwear company as a tech rep. And I drove the bloddy wheels off of my car hitting every shoe store in Michingan, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania...anyway, I always found myself going back to Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street. I made a tape because my car had no CD player. Every week I'd rotate out the cassettes that I take along and Exile seemed to have a permanent spot in the travel case. By 1998 I bought a car with a CD changer and the day I made the switch, the traveling tape case went into the closet of my home office. I won't touch it -- it serves as a sort of time capsule of where I was at a certain time in my life.
So now (still in the biz...just not a tech rep) when I hit the road, the iPod has taken out all of the beautiful deliberation of selecting music for the week. Bitersweet.
