Following in the footsteps of David Gilmour's small tour, Roger Waters will be embarking on his own beginning in June. I presume he will be road testing some new material he's been working on for an album that's been in the works for a few years now.

  • Dang! I hope he swings by Canada soon after then. Saw him a few years back now at Molson Amphitheatre and all I can say is....WOW! I love what the man has to say, his lyrics are incredible! My personal fave is the album of the tour I got to see actually :), "Amused To Death", it's bang on. I look forward to hearing what he has to say these days.

    Thanks, AndySlash! :)

There was supposed to be a link there. Oops.

    http://www.pinkfloydz.com

Both broke the Live 8 stories and both site owners are in regular contact with Floyd/Waters' management teams and, in some instances, band members themselves.

The pinkfloydz site has Gilmour's 'On an Island' artwork up, which includes the lyrics. Take a look if you don't mind being spoiled ahead of the album release.

Unfortunately, both sites are pretty much horrendous to look at. I wish the site owners would get someone to do a nice streamlined site.

Looks like he'll be doing 'Dark Side' in its entirety at Roskilde. Not sure if this will apply to other shows yet.

why do you pretend it ?

and do you think he will tour in the NA after all those dates ? I missed the opportunity to get tickets for Gilmour and I was really sad.. But I prefer by far Waters' works, so this time, i'll be there, whatever i'll need to do (:

Who cares what the individuals (Waters and Gilmour) are doing, they should be together(with Mason and Wright) touring as Pink fucking Floyd. They both need to get the sticks out of their asses and do it.
    32 shows and counting...

Yeah, i'm gonna see him at Roskilde. Would've paid extra to see the whole band though.
But still, I'm gonna see Roger Waters!

He's gonna play Dark Side on that norwegian festival too apparently, so I think it might be the idea for the whole tour. That must get kinda boring after a whole tour, though. For him I mean.

    Waters' Dark Side
    Updated 03:01 PST Mon, Feb 27 2006

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters has announced a European tour, along with the promise of a full performance of his former band's album Dark Side Of The Moon in France.
The confirmed concerts start with an appearance at Portugal's Rock In Rio - Lisbon festival June 2. From there, he'll do at least 10 dates in Italy, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Greece and Denmark, staying on the road through July 12.
According to Waters' official Web site, the former Pink Floyd bassist/vocalist will be joined by ex-bandmate Nick Mason on drums for a live version of Dark Side Of The Moon. The site does not specify whether the event will be a one-off or a tour, stating simply, "Somewhere in France. This summer."
    Details are expected shortly.
