Yes, you're wrong. Breakerfall is a great opener. Although, Sad is a great song and they should've included it.

God's Dice should have been the first single, Sad could have been it's B-side

I think it would have been best to lead off lost dogs.... Breakerfall is hard to top as an opener.

no not the opening song. the first single released. I've always thought that it belonged on the album too.. and I dunno, I was just listening to it and it seemed to have a good rock radio feel. I'd even go as far as to say maybe a video for it would have been cool.

but alas, it's just a Lost Dog

edit: the riff is SO AWESOME

My Binaural has Sad in place of Evacuation and Fatal in place of either Thin Air or Light Years.

I like it alot better that way.

I have no idea what they were thinking, leaving it off that album. It should have been the single as well. My life is a better life now that Sad is available at least on Lost Dogs. I can't believe such a great song, in my PJ top 5, was fully mixed and ready to go, and buried for how many years? The opening riff always plays in my head. It haunts me wherever I go. Some say the chorus plays too closely to Paint it Black by the Stones. I just say Sad is the best and the best of those recording sessions. Mike's lead overlay is just so appropriate. Just perfect.

Sad doesn't fit in the context of Binaural. It would've stuck out like a sore thumb.

If God's Dice was the first single, Binaural wouldn't of sold 100,000 copies.

Light Years is one of Pearl Jam's best fucking songs man... That's like saying Ten would be better without Black - or Vitalogy without Immortality.

i think binaural is loaded with single songs:

breakerfall, god's dice, light years, insignificance, grievance

nothing as it seems is a great track, but probably not their best choice for a single.

This is such a tired subject, and to be honest, i'm sick of reading about it.

Some people think Binaural would be better if some songs were left off and others included, and some don't. No one is right, it's all a matter of opinion.

The fact of the matter is that THE BAND decided that the Binaural tracklisting is as it is, so just get over it.

Sad would have made an awesome radio single I agree. I'm quite suprised it was taken off the original tracklist and used as a B side. However, I am just glad the song is released because it totally rocks both live and in studio.

Put Fatal between Light Years and NAIS. And stick Sad right between NAIS and Thin Air.

I'll have to try that. I agree that they aren't really Binaural....but who am I to say?

yeah i love sad. it's one of my favorites but binaural is one of my favorite albums. i don't feel like the 2 go together at all. the same way with down. i love the song, it's incredible but doesn't go with riot act at all. i think the band does a pretty good job of deciding what goes on the album and what doesn't. it does suck great songs get put on the back burner, where only true fans probably hear them but it makes it that much cooler when they play them live that 1st time and don't expect it.

IN YOUR OPINION Sad should've been the lead single but it wasn't. I personally think Sad would've been out of place and it was a wise choice to leave it off but that's MY OPINION like Dave's is his...

Hang on... You didn't know?! :D Well, Yes indeed the band did pick the track listing for Binaural! I don't know where you get your information from but (don't quote me on this) you may very well be wrong about the Oprah thing...

You're not the only one who can be a condesending twat.
