Will agree it should have been a single. Love that song.

no not the opening song. the first single released. I've always thought that it belonged on the album too.. and I dunno, I was just listening to it and it seemed to have a good rock radio feel. I'd even go as far as to say maybe a video for it would have been cool.
but alas, it's just a Lost Dog
edit: the riff is SO AWESOME

I like it alot better that way.
How dare you get rid of Light Years and call it a better album.
2006: Boston 1 and 2
2008: MSG 1 and 2, Mansfield 1 and 2
2010: Boston
2012: Made in America Philly
I have no idea what they were thinking, leaving it off that album. It should have been the single as well. My life is a better life now that Sad is available at least on Lost Dogs. I can't believe such a great song, in my PJ top 5, was fully mixed and ready to go, and buried for how many years? The opening riff always plays in my head. It haunts me wherever I go. Some say the chorus plays too closely to Paint it Black by the Stones. I just say Sad is the best and the best of those recording sessions. Mike's lead overlay is just so appropriate. Just perfect.

If God's Dice was the first single, Binaural wouldn't of sold 100,000 copies.
"Why sit when you can dance?" - Me
Light Years is one of Pearl Jam's best fucking songs man... That's like saying Ten would be better without Black - or Vitalogy without Immortality.

because evacuation was Matt's first writing contribution for the band.

Yeah, it's like how parents put all their kids' shitty art projects up on the refrigerator.
breakerfall, god's dice, light years, insignificance, grievance
nothing as it seems is a great track, but probably not their best choice for a single.
Some people think Binaural would be better if some songs were left off and others included, and some don't. No one is right, it's all a matter of opinion.
The fact of the matter is that THE BAND decided that the Binaural tracklisting is as it is, so just get over it.
I don't wanna think, I wanna feel
Dublin 23/08/06 Lisbon I 04/09/06 Lisbon II 05/09/06 Paris 11/09/06 Verona 16/09/06
London 18/06/07 Dusseldorf 21/06/07 Copenhagen 26/06/07 Nijmegen 28/06/07
And Breakerfall is awesome as an opener.
And for the second song at a show!
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
I would agree with you if you had said the exact opposite.
My Binaural....

I didn't know you were tired of the subject Audiodave. I never would have posted it if I knew that. the last thing any of us want is to upset you. and are you sure it was the THE BAND who came up with the tracklisting? I thought it was Oprah who decided what songs go on what album.

I'll have to try that. I agree that they aren't really Binaural....but who am I to say?

IN YOUR OPINION Sad should've been the lead single but it wasn't. I personally think Sad would've been out of place and it was a wise choice to leave it off but that's MY OPINION like Dave's is his...
Hang on... You didn't know?! Well, Yes indeed the band did pick the track listing for Binaural! I don't know where you get your information from but (don't quote me on this) you may very well be wrong about the Oprah thing...
You're not the only one who can be a condesending twat.
... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
How Evacuation made the cut at all makes my mind boggle....
