AEG LIVE, VH1 CLASSIC AND ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK PRESENT
ALICE IN CHAINS

NOVEMBER 7, 2006

Mt. Clemens, MI – August 16, 2006 – One of the most influential bands of the early nineties will unleash their powerful riffs and subtle acoustics live on the stage of the Emerald Theatre! Alice In Chains are true music innovators, and on November 7th, these rock legends can be seen at the Emerald. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, August 19 at 10:00 am at all Ticketmaster locations.

Alice In Chains gained incredible acclaim in 1992 from the album Dirt with hits like “Down in a Hole” and “Rooster.” The follow up to the album, Jar of Flies, was equally impressive as it gave birth to the melodic “I Stay Away” and “No Excuses.” Alice In Chains had the unique ability to combine high voltage metal with beautiful melodies and stunning vocal harmonies, making the band true pioneers of their time.

The band is performing for the first time in over a decade with all their surviving members on their VH1 Classics tour. They are stopping by the Emerald Theatre on November 7, 2006 for what’s sure to be an intense performance. Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10:00am at all Ticketmaster locations. Call 248.645.6666 or go to http://www.ticketmaster.com.

The Emerald Theatre is located at 31 North Walnut Street in downtown Mt. Clemens. For more information, please call Shannon Cassidy at (586) 913-1920 or visit http://www.emeraldtheatre.com.

I'm hoping to get tickets for this show also. Do you know how many people the Emerald Theatre holds? I'm worried that tickets will be hard to get. Are you planning on buying tickets in person, online, or on phone??

I'm not even sure if you CAN buy online or on the phone. I'm going to my local ticketmaster saturday morning early.....

Good luck getting tix-maybe i'll see ya there!

AIC had a presale on their website this week. Some locations sold out, but I'm pretty sure they're still available for this show.

Just put your mouse over Tour and click on ticket sales.

    Hope that helps.

This really has nothing to do with ticketsales, but there is a threat on that webpage: Alone and Eddie vedder. It is talking about where that song came from. I like to look at other bands message boards just to see what is going on. and from what I can tell.....we are definately the best!

i'm seeing them nov 2 in NYC for the second time
50+ shows and lost count somewhere along the way
  • Layne's vocals were really a huge part of what made AIC sounds so amazing. But the music was/is also amazing.

Who is singing in his place?

I would go see them play anytime WITHOUT any vocals!

Jerry sings alot of the songs like he always did but the new lead is a guy Jerry had when he was doing his solo stuff so at least the guy has been singing the Layne stuff for a while and he is pretty good, his name is William Duvall for "Comes with the Fall"

That's cool I suppose. It would almost be good enough just with Cantrell singing, but probably beter with a legit lead singer. Very difficult to step into Layne's voice on a ton of their songs.

Is it the second coming of Layne Staley? Because this would be the only way I would see them.

    No Layne.....No Alice....

I'm really fighting with this as well. To me, Layne was really AIC..he was the identity, even if Jerry did write and sing a lot. They are coming here to Wichita in November, and I'm debating whether to go see them or not.

No debate for me. AIC are kicking ass. Jerry, Sean and Mike are in great form. I saw them last year at a Tsunami benefit show in Seattle and they were amazing. I'll definitely be seeing them when they swing back through Seattle.

sounds like Sean Kinney doesn't want to either.........and I agree, they aren't AIC without Layne.
