great show, shitty crowd, good times, if you have never heard of these guys you are missing out a great deal, all they do is write fantastic catching pop songs.

yeah, i love these guys/girls. haven't seen them live yet, but i love all 3 of their albums.

what was the problem w/the crowd?
Those undecided,........ Needn't have faith to be free
And those misguided, There was a plan for them to be
Now you got both sides Claiming killing in Gods name
But God is nowhere,..... To be found, conveniently

They are excellent, I saw them last year in a tiny club and they were great, they did 2 encores which surprised me. At one point they asked if anyone had any requests and I yelled out Miss Teen Wordpower and they played it in the first encore!

Was Neko with them? I almost drove a long way to see them earlier this year until I found out Neko wasn't touring with them, it didn't seem like it would be worth it. I hope to catch them at some point.

I'm seeing them tonight in Caglary. Should be a great show. I'm looking forward to it.

i need to check this band out. I enjoy neko case's solo work and i think one of the guys in the band is a major factor in the band destroyer and i love their album rubies.....

Neither Neko's solo stuff nor Destroyer are good preperation for The New Pornos. Neko becomes a pop singer in the band and the Destroyer singer only has 1 or 2 songs per album with the New Pornos. If you've heard AC Newman's solo album, that is a much better introduction.

As for an album, I would start with "Mass Romantic", I think it is the most instantly likeable out of all of their albums.

yeah, I'd start with Mass Romantic...but seriously, they haven't written a bad song yet after three albums, so anyalbum of theirs is a good start. I've seen them live twice now and both times with Kathryn Calder filling in for Neko.

what most impressed me about the New Pornos live was their drummer. He is superb. Love the orange drum kit too!
