Some great songs on there. St. James is awesome, really loved this when they played it live. I don't like the cover of Eleven's 'Flow like a river'. Maybe its because i'm a big fan of the original but i just don't think it sounds good. Altho i've never heard Lanegan's voice like that before.

I actually really like the cover of Flow Like A River but I was thinking the same thing about Lanegan's voice. At first I wasn't even sure it was him. The more I listen to him the more I realise he has a pretty versatile voice. He sounds like a different person from Flow Like A River to Duchess.
  • lanegan does have an extrordinarily versatile voice. lots of people think he is all low register/growly, but he does lots of higher singing, harmonies, etc.

how do you get adorata? i have itunes but no idea how to use it...any help much appreciated xxx

In itunes click on 'iTunes store' on the left hand side. In the top right there will be a box where you can type what your looking for. Input 'Gutter Twins'. It should be on the next page.

  • Death, I wait tonight
For your kiss, for your life
    Call me back home
To your breast, to your arms

    And we have met before
On these stairs, at this door
Time fades away till it's gone
    Midnight and dawn

Into your arms I am yours again
Touch my cheek, I am cold
As I sleep, so I am born again
    Disappear
    All is calm

    It's a masquerade
    In a field of gold
    On a moonlit night
    It's a freefall

    When she took my hand
    On the silver court
    Let me in tonight
    Let the feeling grow
    When you turn your head
    When I see the light
    Will you take me home
    Into Paradise?

She's all right, she's all right
    She's all right with me

    How long?

Damn. This song is incredible... it sounds like the song you play over the end credits of the most intense movie ever.

    Hmmph!

Have you venerable yet blameworthy gentleman/birdies paid up to ITunes for this? Cos me encountering difficulty finding it elsewhere. It'll turn up but I'm anxious to hear it, especially the Vetiver cover.

Oh yeah, you only have to listen to him singing Rooster with AIC to hear that he's more than a one trick pony.

Oh, and yeah I love this EP so far - gotta give it a few more listens, but it's typically awesome :D

I didn't, I just put it into google and clicked on one of the links which had a download. I have no issue paying for it, but I want a cd, not just a download. Plus I don't wanna download itunes on my pc just for one EP.

I'm sure it will eventually see a cd release, I bloody well hope so!
  • Normally I'd have no problem downloading an album illegally, but with some of the proceeds from this going towards the Natasha Schneider fund, I would've felt bad not paying the €7 they were asking.

I would have no problem paying for this, knowing some of the proceeds would go to the Natasha Schneider fund, even though I despise iTunes. But the iTunes store is not available in some countries, including mine. I simply cannot buy the damn EP. I have to say this was a really bad move for Sub Pop.

Anyway, I'm in love with We Have Met Before!!

Ouch, that sucks. Maybe try e-mailing Sub Pop, see if they'll sort something out for you? I know they offer mp3 downloads of most new music they release...
On another note, congrats on your newfound Entertainment Weekly fame. :D

I'd have less inclination if I was more familiar with her work. Maybe.

I think hearing Lanegan sing Rooster was the first time I realized that he had a great voice. I never thought he would be able to sing that song and he nailed it. The scary thing was he seemed to do it with almost as much emotion as Layne.

Does anyone have a link or mp3 of this recording? Send a PM to me if you have a few minutes! Thanks!

The intro to "Belles" sort of reminds be of the 'Dead Man Walking' /Eastern version of 'Long Road'

i dunno... i certainly wasnt paying as much attention to it as i wouldve liked when i listened to it yesterday cause i was walking to class... i just felt like he was mixed too low... but i guess gregs voice always kindof overpowers on their duets... what i mean was most of it was layered... i like when mark gets a couple songs to himself... but im not a huge fan of gregs voice to begin with

  • Hey all! Some of you are familiar with my site, The Shawn Smith Collective. It stands as the world's largest collection and most comprehensive discography for everything Shawn has released/appeared on.

Well, the only other band(s) that I have a similar passion for collecting is Twilight Singers and Gutter Twins. So I've finally gotten my shiz together and scanned MOST of my collection...the rough draft is up at http://www.sscollective.net/twins Please take a look and let me know if you know of any items missing from my collection and where I can find them.

    To be added this weekend:
-Pictures and tracklistings for all albums
-Tracklistings and catalog info for all items pictured, where it's needed (advance albums and Gutter Twins, for example)
-Instrumental version of I Wish I Was
    -al LIVE boots currently known
    -Adorata!
    -Meth Blues

  • There are VERY simple directions on how to buy music through iTunes, then convert it to a format you can share anywhere.

I hate iTunes with a PASSION but wanted to help out the Natasha fund as well as Lanegan and Dulli and actually pay for the album. But I wasn't going to do it without being able to do whatever the fu** I wanted with the music I PAID FOR! That's why I hate iTunes!
