New Tool featuring Josh Homme

I don't think I've seen a mention about this over here yet. Josh Homme mentioned this to LA Music Weekly. He confirms his involvement on a track for the upcoming album....
He said he provided back up vocals to a very very heavy tune.
He said the NEW TOOL MUSIC reminds him of D-Day, where the US stormed the beach @ Normandy. He said it is absolutely the most chaotic innovative piece of music he's ever heard........
I am stoked.

Are you too good to tango with the poor poor boys?

I LOVE it!!! So many bands I love with thier fingers in all the different cookie jars.
Ive nenver heard bad blood between any of these bands and they all seem to be friends with each other in some respect. Even eddie would have tie ins to Maynard through the RHCP hookup, and califoria scene.
see I told you so!
hehehe...
no its just cool that alot of the bands
I like which arent always so similar
in genres are closely tied.
QOTSA were on stoney's label

RATM thanked PJ on their self titled because brad used to be in a band with eddie

i'll stop here because this could turn into a never-ending 'school of rock' kinda thing if we're not careful
Some days you wake up and sit on a park bench next to an eighty year old Russian architect, and some days you don't. I think this is my new life philosophy.

This could turn into a very interesting family tree.

this was actually a rumor on TOOLNAVY started by some dumbass that got banned so I refuse to believe it unless you actually have the article
Hey just wondering if you have any affiliation to a guy named Tylenol from the QOTSA forums? Cause his post is a carbon copy of yours.
very well done
dave grohl played drums on the new NIN too
Jack Irons plays drums for Eleven, with Natasha and Alain.
I've been receiving lots of email from people asking about any guest musicians that might be performing on the new TOOL record. Although I suggested to the band members that it might be interesting to attempt to get someone from the other side (i.e. someone deceased) to play on the CD, this didn't happen (that we're aware of, at least) due, for the most part, to contractual disputes (mainly on their end, it's sad to say). In fact, oddly enough, the ONLY muscians performing on the new TOOL record are the four members of the band, namely, Danny, Justin, Adam and Maynard. Go figure!
lol it was never called the kevin bacon game :P
but it was 6 degrees
run for your life
When I look at parts of my CD collection, it looks like I make a real effort to follow these guys around. As discerning as I am about rock music, they rarely disappoint.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth.
Truth is not beauty.
Beauty is not love.
Love is not music.
Music is the best."

Don't forget Eleven
Jack Irons - RHCP, PJ, Joe Strummer
Natasha - QOTSA, Desert Sessions, Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, Eagles of Death Metal
Alain - QOTSA, Desert Sessions, a band with Flea, Jack, and Hillel Slovak, Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan Band, Eagles of Death Metal
Alain and Natasha's production credits go even beyond that. . No Doubt, Live, Stedman, Millionaire

Don't forget Josh Freese of The Vandals
Josh plays drums for APC and also played drums on several tracks of Chris Cornells record.
New TOOL album coming soon :):)
It would be interesting but where to begin?
Not sure how he feels about Ed now, but i do know that Trent Reznor talked a lot of trash about PJ in the past. If you consider that bad blood
I'm fine with Josh doing back up vocals, just don't let him play guitar on a Tool song, I just can't see it fitting in.

That is so true. What an absolutely worthless band website 99% of the time.
indeed he was. he's on mer de noms and played on 3 songs on 13 steps. 1 of which , 'gravity' he co-wrote. plus that whole touring thing.
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say
What the fuck? How can you compare music to the Normandy invasion? Thats the most insane analogy I have ever read.Didnt know it was just the US storming Normandy either, but I disgress.
