    I am. Right now.
I must confess I've already heard most of the new songs, between the live shows I've been to over the past 2 years and snooping around message boards and what not. The album is fantastic. Nels really shines on a lot of the new tunes.
My other impression is that many of the new songs have a kind of 70's R&B vibe to them, kind of like the cover they do at the end of the kicking TV live disc. At any rate, good stuff.

It just got over, and I have to say, this is gonna be a big one. Great feel to the record. Very mellow, and soulfull.

Walken is awesome, I'm glad I have that one. I couldn't see the track names while it was playing so I don't really know any others by name.

okay I will add shake it off to that list. It's playing now. All the time changes are sweet. It's like its disjointed but cohesive at the same time.

Sounds pretty good, but much like Ghost, I think I will appreciate this album a lot more after I have heard it all live. As of right now, the only SBS songs I've seen live are Walken (Wilco), Patient With Me, and What Light (Tweedy solo.) Not coincidentally, they are my favorite SBS songs so far.
Liberace was great on the piano but he sucked on the organ.

Walkin reminds me of their older stuff. It would be right at home on AM or especially Being There. Right there with Casino Queen and Kingpin. I love those songs.

The e-mail said "til the wee hours."

Didn't see the polooza set. They've been playing walken, Imossible Germany and Either Way for the past 18 months or so. All three of those made the album, so you might have heard those.

Just got finished with the album 1st time through. Kind of a weak ending IMO. What Light and On and On and On are not their best work. I was hoping What Light would not make the album. Lyrics sound like something Jeff came up with in about 30 seconds.

Besides these two weak spots though, its a good record. Hoping Mr. Farrar and Son Volt will come up with something equally good. That one comes out Tuesday.

  • Bahhh! I can't get it to work. It just sits at "negotiating". I suppose thousands of people are trying to stream it right now. Poo.

I heard "Sky Blue Sky" on the radio the other day and it was awesome.
