What is it with these guys? Why do I really like them? They are nothing like my other favorite bands (maybe closest is Pete Yorn).

I had this album since last week (work at a radio station), and it hit me today how good it really is (maybe the 10th listen through).

I am really digging "Let It Happen," "Chase This Light," and the album closer "Dizzy."

Anybody want some samples of these?

Cause they're good? I don't really see why some people can only like bands that are 99% similar to each other. Good for you for having diverse tastes, don't let other people get to you cause I'd expect there to be some annoying people who might make fun of you. There is a lot of good music in every genre. I haven't heard it yet so if you can send it to me, thanks!

They are good, but I can understand why teeny-boppers dig them...their lyrics are pretty cheesy.

I won't shy away from it...just not sure why I dig these guys, but absolutely hate Bon Jovi, Dashboard Confessional, and Death Cab...all somewhat similar.

yes i do! how does it stack up to futures? i liked the harder edged sound much better than the poppiness of bleed american.

I think it sounds like FUTURES more than any other...but not quite sure I can put it up on FUTURES level just yet.

welllll now that the real world has had the luxury of hearing it this thread needs to get rolling again because i'm loving it and have to express that somewhere.

i hear you though...while they're nothing like my other favorite bands for some reason jew just tears it up. futures is ridiculously sentimental to me. bleed american is admittedly what got me into them, but clarity is one of my top 10 albums ever. static prevails has some great tracks too. how chase this light will stack up - not sure...doubt it can reach the sentimentality of futures but as far as the music is concerned it's just solid jew as always.

  • Not sure what to make of it yet. I loved Clarity and Futures, but so far the new one seems to have a few too many songs that blend into each other. I probably need to give it a few more listens. I'm just not quite getting any stand-out tracks like Polaris or Work. Although I do like Gotta Be Somebody's Blues, Big Casino and Dizzy. By no means a bad record though, the best albums usually take some listening to get in to.

How come they never let the guitarist Tom sing anymore? He sings a decent amount on Clarity, but I don't think much at all since.

This album is fine after a few listens. I doubt it will stay in the rotation for very long. It's been all downhill since Clarity in my opinion.

futures took me ages to get in to, now it's nothing short of wow. can't wait to hear this, it's gonna get some serious disc abuse by the time i've finished with it

think this is mutually agreed upon by fans...blister is one of my favorites of theirs...

    They have some catchy tunes.
    one foot in the door
the other foot in the gutter
    sweet smell that they adore
    I think I'd rather smother
