I work at a radio station and we got his new album (comes out next week) in this week, and I must say it's good.

Tracks 1-5 are really good and one of the best 1-5's I've heard in awhile.

Like I usually do when I discuss new albums (Snow Patrol, Muse, A&A, etc.) I like to give some samples.

Let me know what you think!!!

Sounds good. Thanks for the preview. Undercover sounded a bit overdone though. Too much layered stuff on top of the music for my taste. Maybe I'll like it better when I get the CD.

    Thanks again.

  • the new album is pretty good. still think musicforthemorningafter is better though.

Pete Yorn has this amazing ability to write a song and the first time I hear it I might say, "It's OK." But after the 3rd or 4th listen, the songs start getting better.

I got the album on Wednesday and loved tracks 1-5 and skipped the rest - now I love the whole album.

    i like this album...
i've listened to "for us" a million times the last two weeks and the rest of the songs are growing on me as well...
musicforthemorningafter is still one of my favourite albums ever and all his other stuff is quality, too...

I'm a fan of Pete Yorn. The first time I saw him was years ago when he was opening for Semisonic (remember those guys?). Drove out to the boondocks to some weird club and I was probably one of maybe 4 people that were there to see him. He didn't disappoint and I even had a beer with him at the bar after his set. Since then, I've seen him about 3 or 4 more times and I think he puts on a good show in the club setting. Just got tix to see him at the Mercury Lounge in NYC in a couple of weeks, really excited about that.

  • i really like the last track "bandstand in the sky." I think the faster/upbeat version on the live album he put out is better but oh well. Still good. Glad to see another album out.

  • I liked his music for the morning after cd. For Nancy (cos it already is) was the reason I bought it. I like Life on a Chain and most of the others. Haven't heard any of his other cds but I might take a listen to the new one.

like it all except that "georgie boy" track which is horrible.

    love track 5.

kinda preferred the fast version of "bandstand...".

love the way he plays so
much of the records himself and i'm a fan of the general production of the albums.

yeah, that's a great version. he slowed it down during his recent show and it really hit me...before he started playing it he talked about dedicating it to jeff buckley and elliott smith. one of those live moments U don't forget.
